On June 28, 2019, the Super Slim Hole Directional Drilling Technologies Study and Field Test Project implemented by Cavaville cooperating with Tarim Oilfield Oil and Gas Engineering Research Institute successfully passed the acceptance evaluation conducted by the experts from the Research Institute. By thoroughly evaluating the workload and achievement, the experts agree that the project achievement provide valid solutions to super deep HTHP super slim-hole directional drilling trajectory control in Tarim Oilfield. The workload stipulated in the contract was completed and the expected target was achieved.
The experts highly graded the project achievement with 92.17 and all agreed that it passed the acceptance evaluation.
The achievements:
1. Super slim-hole MWD and other DD tools works stably with strong signal, even at the depth of 7400m, and have the capability to work at the depth of 8000m.
2. Small-size NMDC optimized model was built to meet the coupling strength requirement and ensure the safety of downhole tools.
3. The influence of vibration upon small-size instrument was recognized through monitoring. Vibration damper was developed to reduce the vibration by 67% and facilitate the successful implementation of super slim-hole directional drilling trajectory control. 1 patent was obtained for this vibration damper.
4. This project is the first case of successful HTHP super deep slim hole directional drilling trajectory control in China.
5. 1 thesis was published in China core journal, and 1 thesis was published in SPE periodical.
